Stereoscopic Playback System
Imagine a bespoke turn key solution that would enable stereoscopic playback in real-time at a fraction of the cost of the current market offerings?
At Escape Studios, this has now become a reality. We have developed a highly customisable stereoscopic solution that enables RW playback in real-time, complete with all the hardware and software components required to get a studio up and running with minimum amount of fuss. Available at a mere fifth of the cost of comparable systems, it presents studios with significant time and cost saving opportunities that were previously unobtainable.
Features
- To generate a fast and robust output we use Boston Igloo’s 24-terabyte storage system, an HP Z400 workstation, and a 10gigabit Ethernet high bandwidth controller to ensure no loss of speed and performance.
- The hardware is configured with IRIDAS Framecycler DDS software for playback to give artists real-time control.
- All elements have been configured and tested to run seamlessly with a 2K output on a 3D JVC monitor (GD-463D10).
- It is a complete system, so there is no need to purchase extra software, workstations or paddling.
- Each system is bespoke and built at Escape Studios to customer's specific needs and fully supported by an onsite installation and on-going technical support and upgrades.
Benefits
- With this stand-alone package, you can spot imperfections and QC material in real-time, eliminating time-consuming rendering or the need to render every time a change is made.
- By facilitating a more productive and efficient creative process, you can also free up work machines, the time of a compositing artist and saves funds on licence products that aren’t necessary.
- Traditionally, stereoscopic required a substantial investment from studios, often incurring extra costs on top of an already expensive system. With our all-inclusive package, this is no longer the case.
- The system has been successfully implemented at Fugitive Studios, a leading Soho VFX house. The Fugitive Studio story is located in the Case study section on the right.
